![]() In Attila you can deploy barricades, in Rome 2 and Attila you have tons of deployables, you can even set down stationary artillery pieces (change those to bunkers, mg emplacements?) The groundwork is all there.ħ.) They could really emphasis unit abilities in this game. In siege battles, troops line up against walls for cover to shoot. Ranged units, melee units, vehicles, large monsters, hero units, artillery (starting to sound familiar?) CA would obviously balance all the factions against each other, and have it fit the Total War formula, (enough units for battles to be big, but not so big they crash computers.)Ħ.) Cover mechanics are already in place. Make it manageable.ĥ.) 40K battles would fit Total War perfectly. Set it all on one map, one planet, like previous Total Wars. We've seen this before in Dawn of War, no need to have 5 different campaign maps spanning 5 planets. Total Warhammer has no naval battles (and they aren't needed) so they could easily just cut out space combat and space travel all together, no need to even worry about it in the first place.Ĥ.) The setting could be 4 races all fighting for control of a single planet. (For balancing reasons units could not shoot through other friendly units in front of them, they would be obstructed.)ģ.) They do not need to include space combat, or space travel. If units in 40K were in a loose formation, and they all fired simultaneously, this would instantly eliminate the Empire/Napoleon/FoTS style combat with long lines of troops, taking turns to fire. ![]() If you've ever watched them fire, they all fire at once, despite their being men in front of other men. The groundwork is all there.Ģ.) CA has already demonstrated they are changing how ranged infantry work, with Empire handgunners. Heroes, vehicles, large monster units have all been introduced in Warhammer Fantasy. Reasons why 40K is very possible, and very doable, imo:ġ.) 40K has tons of melee troops, as well as ranged units. Fantasy's more popular brother, 40K, seems like a no brainer to focus on next. 40K is much more popular than fantasy, think of how well that would sell in comparison. Warhammer 1 has been their best selling Total War game to date, and it's in the Fantasy setting. ![]() I think the chance of CA doing 40K Total War afterwards is very high. Think we missed one?
