It has now been 11 days since I checked out of the home and still no refund of my deposit. I once again sent them the $1500.00 confirmation and asked them to refund my deposit. The following day I received a message, again, stating that I did not pay the deposit but rather the insurance payment. I waited 5 days and then reached out to them asking when my deposit would be refunded. The following day I received a 5 star rating from the owner so I assumed I would see the deposit refunded that day. On the day of check out I received a text stating that they had received the deposit and it would be refunded as soon as the cleaning was finished that afternoon. I submitted a screenshot of the confirmation and asked them to verify that it had been received. I started receiving texts stating that they did not receive the $1,500 deposit but rather a $59.00 insurance payment. I paid the deposit and notified the owner. The owner informed me that they were a larger and on API software so I needed to pay a deposit outside of the VRBO website and sent me a link to do so. The house and location was perfect for our visit but the "deposit" has been a nightmare. As much as I do not like posting negative reviews, I felt the necessity to post this.
